In Great Britain, World Book Day is in March. Authors visit schools and read their books to the children, Children wear costumes. they dress up as a character from a book. They write stories and they make bookmarks. They can buy books with a special book token* too.
The main aim of this day is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own.
